Brainwave Challenge #15

This week's brainwave challenge was a color challenge using the following colors:
Now before you look at my picture, I've got some explaining to do. Rick and I have our house listed for sale right now. Let me tell you, this makes the whole stamping hobby very challenging! Our realtor had direct orders to keep all the crafty stuff put away for showings and such. SO, everytime I want to make a project, I have to drag EVERYTHING out of my closet and drawers (including my table!). And then when I'm finished, I have to break it all down and put it back. UGGHHH
Well, last week I made a card and thought, what are the chances we'll have a showing?? I'll just leave this stuff out for another day or two. Well, wouldn't you know it. The very next day our realtor calls and someone wants to see the house THAT day! LOL Luckily Rick was home and could clean up. However, Rick's idea of cleaning up means shoving everything whereever it fits no matter where it should actually go.
So tonight, I made my card and I'm quite pleased with it. I go looking for my camera and it's no where to be found. In the midst of Rick's tazmanian cleaning spell, he misplaced my precious camera and he cannot remember where he put it. :(
My picture tonight is looking pretty rough! LOL I took this with the camera that is built into my laptop so it's really grainy and pretty crappy looking. But it will have to do until I can tear each room apart looking for a tiny little camera.
I used our "Delightful Dahlia" individual stamp and the sentiment is from our "Lovely Lilies" mini set.
Please check out the other projects made for this challenge!

BWC - Thinking of Someone

This week's Brainwave Challenge was to use these colors on our card. I really love this sage shadow color and it goes nicely with the other colors in the challenge.

On my card I used a couple oldies but goodies. I used our Elegant Orchid individual stamp and the sentiment is from our Everyday Sentiments mini set. The background stamp used on the bottom layer is from Lovely Lilies that was just released last month.

I kept the design/layout simple. I didn't bother to color the image. I want to convey a simple message with this card. I've got someone on my heart and I hope this card will let them know that they're not alone and are in my prayers.

I sure hope everyone has a great day today. :) Check out what the other gals did with this challenge:

Fintastic Monday

So yesterday Michele was the Featured Stamper on SCS! I was so excited to see it because she's awesome and totally deserves it. I picked one of my favorite cards she has made to inspire this fishy card. :)

And mine:

This fish and sentiment will be released on July 10th. Be sure to also join us in our Yahoo group for our release party at 9pm on the 9th. We'll be giving away lots of prizes and having lots of fun right up until we release the new stamps at midnight!!

So today's Brainwave Challenge on Ashley's blog was a sketch challenge. Below is my version. I used the "Life's a Picnic" set which I absolutely adore. It can be used in so many different ways! I just love it.

I also want to let everyone know about the special that Treehouse Stamps is running right now. From now until July 4th, we are offering a 20% savings on the "American Dream" set!! These kids are adorable and patriotic. It's a great set for those July 4th party invitations or just to tell that soldier or veteran in your life what they mean to you.

New Release & some weekend news!

First and foremost, I want to let all of you know Treehouse Stamps has released NEW STAMPS!! We have three new sets out!!

Life's a Picnic - Full Set
Lovely Lilies
Snail Mail - Mini Set

They're all SUPER cute sets and SO versatile too. So head on over to the Treehouse and check them out! You won't be disappointed, I promise. :)

On some other news, the Treehouse Stamps ladies are taking a ROAD TRIP!! Ashley and I are taking off this weekend - destination unknown. Now, yes...Ashley just got back from Mexico, but I, on the other hand, needed a break! So in a mood of spontaneity, we decided to take ourselves on a girl's weekend getaway. I'm so excited. We're not exactly sure where we'll end up, but we know what we're looking for. We're looking for fun, relaxation, inspiration and quiet little towns where we can explore the beauty of our surroundings. I love to travel and I love spending time with my best friend, Ashley. And she's never been on a girl's weekend road trip! So this is going to be a blast.

We'll be sure to take plenty of pictures and maybe even some video to share when we get home! Until then, have a spectacular weekend!!

Brainwave Challenge Plus SNEAK PEEK!

Good Wednesday!

Today's Ashley's brainwave challenge was a sketchy one. :) I found this card to be pretty daunting at first sight, but once it was finished, I loved it!!

I used the lilies and sentiment from the soon to be released set called Lovely Lilies by Treehouse Stamps! I adore these flowers. They're full of grace and beauty and in this particular set, appear as a neat little bouquet. We will be releasing this set and more on Thursday of THIS WEEK! So be sure to join us over at the Treehouse. :)

Me and my Shadow

Good Evening, All!

I'm extremely tired and never did get my quota of caffiene today but I was going thru my pictures and just had to upload this one. I know I'm always talking about my dog, Shadow but I've never posted a picture of her yet! So here it is! She's about 6 years old and I've had her since she was just a tiny puppy. I love her so soo soooo much. She's my friend, my playmate and she's my protector. She's always "protecting" me against birds, thunder, and God forbid another dog come my way. LOL I spend lots of time alone these days with Rick's new job, and I don't know what I'd do without Shadow to keep me company and give me someone to hug and talk to. She's my baby.

This picture was taken a couple weeks ago when we went down to Lake Cumberland. Shadow loves going out on the pontoon with us! She had a blast that day and I love that we can take her with us. In this picture she's giving her mommy some kisses for taking her on a fun and exhausting weekend trip. hehehe

Hope you enjoy!

And here is another of her enjoying the breeze in her fur. hahaha

Brainwave Wednesday!

Hey Peeps!

It's Wednesday! This week is flying by since we had Monday off! It was so nice to have the extra day. :) So today's challenge was a sketch challenge. I have to give all the credit of this card to Rick! He came up with the idea and he even made most of the card. Occassionally, I can twist his arm and get him to stamp with me. :) He did a very good job, so I'm proud to present it. Tell me what you think! He'll be stoked to hear the comments.

Brainwave Challenge Card

Good Hump Day, Everyone!

Today I'm posting a card made for Ashley's Brainwave Challenge for the week! It was an inspiration challenge and we were to make a card inspired by this Vera Bradley purse! I love the colors and clean design of this bag.

I used the "Fluttery Friend" individual stamp from Treehouse Stamps. The sentiment (also from Treehouse Stamps) is from the "Elegant Sentiments" set, which I absolutely adore! Head on over to http://www.treehousestamps.com/ to see what other perfect sentiments are in that set! :)

Happy Friday!
I'm not feeling the best today but I thought I'd pop in a post a few projects that I made for VSN. The first one is my project for the "Purse-onality" challenge. I was chosen for the honors gallery using this project that was inspired by my very own B. Makowsky purse!! I'm so excited to have been chosen. It's definitely a confidence booster when I'm so new to the paper crafting world.
The second card is my cow card. I loved the way this card came together...might be my favorite one of all.
Thirdly, the Recipe for Friendship card! I think this baking set is so adorable and is very cute on recipe cards and tins - makes a great gift idea w/ Mother's Day coming up!

Hope you enjoy them and hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
God Bless,
Kristin

Baby, Baby, Baby

It's a quiet night online! I've been looking for friends to chat with, but it seems the world went to bed early tonight! LOL. I thought I'd just post this card I made a while back. I love this stork so much. It's a vintage sketchy image that you don't see much in stamps these days. I'm very proud of this set by Treehouse Stamps. Hope you enjoy it too! Let me know what you think. :)
Cheers,
Kristin

We went to red rubber instead of acrylic and the quality is impecible! You won't believe it when you get them home. Plus the stamps come already mounted to EZ mount, so all you have to do is cut them and stick them to your acrylic block and stamp until your hearts desire! It's so easy and completely functional for storage. LOVE THAT!

-After careful consideration and long thoughts... we decided to switch from clear acrylic stamps to red rubber stamps. The reason being that you just can't get the sketchy detail with acrylic stamps as you can red rubber. When you order them they will come with EZ mount and will be ready for you to cut out. You will still be able to use your acrylic blocks. Ashley will be posting a video on her blog this weekend or next week on how to mount and cut out your stamps for those of you that have never done so. :) Check it out at http://www.ashleyscreativecorner.com/

-Everyone asked for variety and that is just what Treehouse Stamps is going to be doing from now on!! :) Not only will we have the big full sets... we will have mini sets... and individual stamps too. So, there is plenty of variety for everyone!!!

-FREE STAMP SET with a $55 order. We already give free shipping to those of you who are in the US and Canada for orders of $40 or more. Now if you spend $55 then you will receive a free winter stamp set! :) You will be able to choose which one you'd like too.

I made it!

I made it through the "rush" season at work! It's finally over and I can actually do something other than work, eat, sleep then back to work. I work for a publishing company in Louisville and we publish CoursePacks for colleges all over the country. When classes are about to start, I am SLAMMED at work. I'm the account manager for California, Washington, Oregon and Arizona. It keeps me on my toes that's for sure. Anyway, I feel like I am out of the woods for now! Ahhh.....(big sigh of relief). Tonight I'm relaxing with my hubby and my puppy (by puppy I mean a 90 lb. german shepard) and just feeling grateful for my blessings. I hope everyone is having as good of a night as I.

Cheers!

60th Wedding Anniversary Guest Book

Hello there!
Okay so here is my first posted project....now, please forgive the poor photography as I have not mastered this art yet. I'm amazed at the clarity of the pictures on everyone else's blogs. I'll have to get tips from my partner in crime, Ashley Bowen! (hint, hint, Ashley) LOL! :)
So my Granparents were married November 20th, 1947. Isn't that incredible?! There's not too many couples who can say they've made it 60 years. I love my grandparents more than anything - they're the glue that holds our family together and I'm so blessed to still have them in my life. They're getting up in their years, but are fairly healthy and just as vivacious as they were 60 years ago.
My aunt threw a party in their honor and invited all their friends and family. She asked me to make this book and I'm so glad I did. I'm very proud of it and it's something they were both astonished to learn that I made! They've got it proudly displayed on top of their entertainment center and it makes me feel so good that they loved it so much. :)

Hope everyone has a lovely day!!

Wanna Laugh??

I just received this link from one of our design team members, Amber. This girl has got a sense of humor, let me tell you!! I laughed until I cried. SO CUTE. :)

http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=1308657277

Welcome, Everyone!

Hello, All! I am so excited and slightly nervous about my first blog posting. :) I'm not the most crafty individual out there, but I love art and can appreciate the creativity that goes into stamping and scrapbooking. It's truly amazing.

I am thrilled to announce that Ashley Bowen and I are starting our own stamping company!! It's called Treehouse Stamps. We came up with this name because it reminds us both of our childhood and a place where as kids, we could really get the imaginative juices flowing. As adults, we probably forget how to pretend and imagine things like we did as children. We want to be a company that lets us all step back into that time of being a creative free spirit. :)

The release date of our first two stamp set designs is Wednesday, December 12 at 8:00pm EST. We are SO excited and hope that everyone joins in at that time to see what we have to offer! I'm posting some sneak peek images of cards that Ashley and Amber from our design team has created. Aren't they cute??! :) Hope everyone has a wonderful day!!
